RESEARCHING COLLEGES: STUDENT BODY
Comparing and contrasting the student body at different schools will help you find places where you will thrive.
Social media is your best friend when you are learning about students at different colleges and universities. Look up individual students in certain majors or student groups on different campuses, and then describe what you see. Are these students who are artsy or outdoorsy? Creative or cosmopolitan? Into athletics or Greek life? Do they volunteer regularly or are they committed to making the world a better place?
Do you see yourself, and important parts of your identity, reflected in the students you are researching?
Can you see yourself in the students that you are looking at? Are the various aspects of your identity represented and supported on campus, and are students there passionate about the same things you are?
Most importantly: are these the sort of students you would like to be surrounded by for the next four years?
