COLLEGE APPLICATION DEADLINES ARE HERE

Most Early Decision and Early Action application deadlines in the US fall between November 1st and November 15th. 

As we enter the beginning of college application season, what is the best way for students and families to plan for approaching deadlines?

12th Graders:

For 12th graders, it is important to develop a clear and achievable plan for application submission.  If you are applying Early Decision, prioritize this application because it is your most important.  Then, choose a reasonable number of Early Action schools to apply to.  Applying early to every college on your application list will result in lower quality applications.  Instead, choose several schools that you like to apply early to.  Work a little bit each day on your applications.

11th Graders:

For 11th graders, it is important to know that the college process requires pacing.  Plan to work steadily on your college process this year. Research colleges you are interested in the fall.  Continue to prioritize your academics throughout the fall semester.  Look for leadership opportunities to pursue, and make time for volunteering activities as the holidays approach.
